37: Sally Izzo on Founding Safe and Sound Satos (@safeandsoundsatos)

On this episode, Sally Izzo, founder of Safe and Sound Satos (@safeandsoundsatos), shares her story of adopting her own pup and how it led her to found SASS, all while working still working full time as a producer. The almost two year old rescue has over 600 successful adoptions under its belt and it’s how I got our beloved Charlie. We also discuss his adoption story.

Follow Up Q&A:

  1. First thing you do in the morning? Brush my teeth and walk my dogs!

  2. What advice would you give your younger self? You can be anything you want to be, and do anything you want to do, just believe it and most importantly believe in yourself.

  3. Wellness trend you love and wellness trend you wish would end? Wellness trend that I love is CBD oil for both pups and humans! it's amazing to chill your pup out and also for sleep. A doggy treat CBD brand I love and recommend is called Dope Dog. I also really am into taking daily taking Ayurveda supplements - Ashwaganda is life changing! I'm really over juice cleanses so I wouldn't mind seeing them take a break.

  4. First Job? First job ever - ever was babysitting at age 13. My first "real" job was as a cashier/store assistant at a store called "The Linen Shop". My favorite part of that job was gift wrapping :)

  5. Proudest moment? My proudest moment....I don't have one in particular that I can think of, but every single time I see a family loving and enjoying their adopted pup I feel immensely proud that I played a role in rescuing that dog's life and also adding to the joy that person will experience with their dog.

  6. 3 most used emojis? 💕🐾😂

  7. Favorite ice cream flavor? Black raspberry or Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey

  8. Who is your spirit animal? The way Olivia Munn speaks out for animal rights and carries herself is very inspiring to me.

  9. What is the title of your autobiography? I've always wanted to  name a book, "Race The Yellow" - because I feel like life is full of those moments where you have to make a split second decision, some are life altering some are not. So, sometimes life begs the question - are you going to race the yellow or wait for the red?

  10. Show you are currently binging? Most recently binged the latest series of Schitt's Creek and Insatiable on Netflix
