Peppermint Cacao CBD Balls

As I mentioned in my recent blog post that dove into all things CBD and the research I did behind choosing my favorite brand, CBD is everywhere. While I am here for the movement focusing on any ingredient to help us remain calm, cool, and collected, I was extremely wary at first. When every bodega on the corner has neon lights screaming “we sell CBD here”, its hard not to be. However, I knew there was something there. After doing my research and testing out products, I’m so grateful for this movement because it introduced me to one of my daily staples: Beam CBD tincture – the One.

Personally, I take a dose of this CBD oil every morning before starting my day, but I know people love to get multiple fixes in throughout the day. Not that this is incredibly necessary to do in food format, but I found a way for you to kill two birds with one stone: snack and decompress at the same time. These peppermint cacao CBD balls showcase the mint flavor of Beam’s the One and create the perfect on the go snack packed with clean ingredients and deliciousness.

If you’re interested in purchasing my favorite CBD oil from Beam, I am pumped to offer you a 15% discount off the entire website with the code “FRECKLEDFOODIE15”.

Dry Ingredients:

  • Almonds (1/2 cup)

  • Walnuts (1/2 cup)

  • Pepitas (1/4 cup)

  • Rolled oats (1/2 cup)

  • Hemp seeds (1 tablespoon)

  • Cacao powder (2 teaspoons)

Wet Ingredients:

  • Dates (3)

  • Almond butter (1/4 cup)

  • Coconut oil (2 tablespoons)

  • Peppermint extract (1 teaspoon)

  • Beam CBD tincture – the One (preferably mint flavor - 4 drops)

Directions:

  1. Place the three dates in a cup of warm water and set aside

  2. In a food processor, combine all of the dry ingredients and pulse on high for ~10 seconds, or until it forms a flour like consistency

  3. Remove the dates from the water and de-pit them

  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients in the food processor and blend on high for ~1 minute, or until it forms a dough like consistency

  5. Remove the mixture from the food processor and place in a bowl

  6. Scoop out a spoonful of the dough at a time and, using water to dampen your hands so that the dough doesn’t stick to you, roll the mixture into equal balls

  7. Set the balls on a plate in the freezer and either store there until ready to enjoy or wait ~30 minutes until they have hardened a bit
